Recap: The Broken Ground Premiere

Let’s fill you in with the details if you missed the August 23 event.

It was a night for the history books.

The world premiere of The Broken Ground documentary was held at the Inverness County Centre of the Arts on a beautiful Tuesday. Jammed packed with locals and tourists, the enthusiasm in the air was unmatched.

The evening began with a special presentation from Inverness Miners Museum tour guide; Ben MacKay. Over the past year, MacKay has been tirelessly at work in renaming Beaton St. in Inverness to Allan J. Memorial Avenue, concerning the late Canadian politician: Allan J. MacEachen.

Next was the first in-person screening of Liam Alexander's The Broken Ground. The feature documentary received high praise from attendees. Before the screening, Alexander gave a short introduction to the eighteen-month-long project and a special dedication to the late author, Ned MacDonald:
